Kumon
Internationally recognized tutoring center specializing in Mathematics, English, and Chinese education through a unique self-learning methodology
Kumon Singapore is part of the global Kumon education network and offers Maths, English and Chinese programmes for children from early learners to teenagers. Its Singapore site explains the Kumon Method through four core elements: study at a “just-right” level, self-learning, structured worksheets and instructor support. The programmes are designed to let students progress at their own pace and, where ready, study material beyond school grade level. Kumon’s Mathematics programme covers early numeracy, arithmetic, fractions, decimals and higher maths foundations, while English and Chinese focus on reading, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, interpretation and summarisation. The official Singapore site says there are over 80 Kumon centres in Singapore and lists a one-time registration fee of SGD50 and monthly fee of SGD170, inclusive of GST. Enrolment involves finding a centre, booking an appointment, attending parent orientation and taking a diagnostic assessment.
